Share International grew out of the vision and inspiration of Sammy and Mary who are Kenyan nationals. Since 1997 Share International has been leading outreach groups of Africans and non-Africans on STORM trips (Short Term Outreach and Relief Missions). These groups minister among the Turkana and refugee people groups that live in the desert northwestern region of Kenya.

We have prayed for the rains for Turkanaland for a long time. God has heard our cry. It has been pouring in Turkanaland! Praise God! One of our Kenya Board members, Pastor Samwel Kaaleng', has lost his house to floods in Lodwar - see John Nakara's note and attached pictures below. Others have lost their lives. We would like to raise emergency funds to help those like Pastor Kaaleng' that have been adversely affected by the floods.
We prayed for the showers. The showers have come! No complaints! The Turkana people lost more people and animals during the drought/famine the past three years. While we must take care of those that are suffering because of the heavy rains, we must never forget what the Turkana people went through during the the long dry season.
