Wayne Kuna

Senior Pastor

I grew up in a Polish neighborhood on Chicago's west side and attended the University of Illinois here in Chicago where I met Candy, my wife to be. There I received an undergraduate degree in Industrial Design. After college I pursued a career as a toy inventor at Marvin Glass and Associates and later in my own firm, Wayne Kuna and Associates (WKA). God faithfully used WKA to share the life changing story of Jesus with toy executives from around the world and to support His work here in Chicago and globally. While at WKA, God also led me to help team pastor a local church and to be the youth minister of a junior high group called Powerhouse.

In 1999 God opened a new door of ministry for Candy and me when He closed the doors of ministry at WKA. God led me to study at the Moody Graduate School (MGS) where I received a Masters in Biblical Studies. While at MGS, I was blessed to serve as Men's Chaplain and to minister with Candy at Calvary Memorial Church of Oak Park as the teaching mentors of a group of fifty young families called Life Trainers. I received my ordination to ministry through Calvary Memorial in 2002. Candy and I teach bible studies, provide parenting coaching and pre-marital, marriage and crisis marriage counseling. We have been married since 7/74 and have two grown children, Todd and Courtenay, who both love the Lord.

I really love my wife and my family, but God has also placed a burning desire in me to love and shepherd His people. I also lo-o-o-ove talking with folks and especially about their spiritual journey. I have seen prayer answered in amazing ways, so I'm always ready to drop everything and pray with someone...like instantly. If we haven't gotten a little closer to Jesus after we've spent time together, somehow I feel we missed something special. Maybe we'll be able to talk one day too.
